Award: Tackling and Preventing Domestic Abuse

Award in Tackling and Preventing Domestic Abuse 32 (Award32Remote)

Description
Summary: The Award in Tackling and Preventing Domestic Abuse is a nationally recognised qualification and can be your first step on your career path in the domestic and sexual violence sector.

Women who have experiences of domestic abuse and who now feel ready to work in the sector are welcomed to this course. Their insights are often of significant relevance to the educational content of the course and contribute to development of professional knowledge and skills necessary to support survivors who are at earlier stages in their journey through domestic abuse. *

*Please note that the course is academic in nature, and it is not designed for person-centred psychological work. If you believe that there may be a risk to your emotional safety and the course may re-traumatise you in some way, please call us in advance to discuss. We want everyone to be safe in this learning space and to enjoy the course.

Who is this training suitable for?
•The Award has been developed for those with little or no experience of working with survivors; volunteers; or those wanting to enter the sector.

The Award is also open to those who work with survivors but don’t work within the domestic and sexual violence sector, for example if you work within a Housing Department, Social Services or the Civil Service.

This qualification requires the completion and submission of an assignment sheet after each unit (3 in total).
